I loved it. But there were some things left to be explained

For those of you who don"t know that scene where Aragorn deflects the knife was not a special effect, the actor that played Lurtz had trouble seeing through the make-up he was wearing and was suppse to through the knife (It was a real knife mind you) at the tree next to the actor that played aragorn but misfired so the actor actually deflected a real knife. If I had to choose one work of art to survive the collapse of human civilization, I think it would be the Lord of the Rings.

Why do all of the gunshots sound like stereo-typical suppressed gunshots when they are clearly suppressed. I have this saved in my bookmarks as anti stress lotr. it helps a lot :P. As good as it gets. This met all expectations even with the big build up. I can"t wait for next December. I saw a lot of little (<10) kids at my showing. The battle and visuals are pretty intense for little kids. This is not Harry Potter time.
The Cast is perfect. I even got used to "Rudy" as Sam. I thought this might have been a fatal flaw when I saw it on the cast sheet but it works out OK. Elijah is Frodo, as the others are also just right. And what else can be said about the lovely Liv. The best looking 3,000 year old elf ever. I heard that one of JRRT"s sons did not want this film to be made and would not see it. A pity. It is marvelous.

Forget the dragons and the epic battles, i watch the Lord of the rings for the light hearted scenes, the beautiful Shire, the innocence of the Hobbits, Gandalfs fireworks, smoke rings at tea time... I could easily be a hobbit. If there"s an afterlife, I want it to be in the shire, I don"t care if I have to be a hobbit, I just want to be there: ???. Ai. br> I have read Tolkien"s book one year ago and was very impressed. I didn"t expect the same fot the movie because it" s simply not possible.
It is possible to shorten the story and make it an excellent movie. Peter Jackson had a chance but just missed!
The movie could not take me, why not? I think its because of some choices of PJ. Making a movie of this book, the first you have to ask yourself is: what feeling does the book give me and how do I bring this in the movie!
This first part of the complete story in the book gives introduction to various characters and takes care that you will love the characters. Also the story let you feel that the trip Frodo is making is long and hard. Third, you"re going to love Middle-Earth and don" t want it to be destroyed.
In stead of these goals Peter Jackson focus is on battle and escapes. He gives you nice landscapes and pictures but wasted a lot of movietime with battles in stead of subtle tense.
I believe that in the next parts the movie will be better because Peter Jackson is more a person who would have liked these parts with lots of fights.
Overall, 8/10.

And sometimes you didn"t want to know the end. I hope there is a new avp or predator which avp means alien vs predator. I can watch this scene all my life. Love the pan flute"s part.

Best movie in the world. Peter Jackson had the entire set of the shire made a whole year ahead of shooting just so it could look lived in like it would in real life. Amazing. This shall be played on my Wedding. This was an incredible feat. Every single person who worked on these movies should be so proud! There"s a reason these movies don"t age and its the attention to detail and special effort put towards realism. The Hobbit movies just do not make the cut.
